Well I thought I’d share this here as a reminder to always be ready for a first aid situation. I was elk hunting Saturday and had a freak accident. I slipped on a wet stick side hilling (I’m sure we’ve all had it happen) and landed ear first into a sharp branch sticking up from a deadfall tree. It almost amputated my ear lobe, luckily I had a few buddies with me. They cleaned it out and bandaged it up. I made it into the urgent care 3 hours later to get 20 stitches. Blessed it was just a flesh wound and missed my eye, or any other vital areas.
Doc got me all stiched up, have some follow up appointments with some wound specialists. First question I’ll have is: Can I get back to hunting!?
Best of luck and stay safe out there!
