Offshore Fishing

Over the past few years, I’ve become more interested in offshore fishing. I’ve been dragging the family out on at least a half day trip when we go to the Gulf. Pulled in my first keeper Red Snapper.

Very nice! Wish I would have gotten to do a full day. We did pretty good considering it was 7 of us and only two of us fished the majority of the time.

I spend four months fishing rivers and streams in Alaska, bugs and bears every where. I’m so jealous! Gotta get me some of that sunshine and warmer water

I like it.

I think tuna fishing is my favorite offshore fishing. Takes a lot of patience but the fights are epic and the groceries they provide aint bad either.

Amberjack can be a blast if you get on them. Lot’s of action.

My handful of offshore trips out of Venice, LA and the FL Keys rank right up there in my best days outdoors memories. Amberjack, snapper, giant redfish, mahi, it's all an adventure, even if the bite isn't hot.

Come to think of it, I Haven't gotten into the yellowfin tuna, and didn't draw any tags this year,, so maybe have to make a return trip to LA sometime soon.

I am sitting here in 100+ degree weather and that Alaska fog and fishing is looking pretty good right about now.
