If anything, it's an admired area many seek to backpack a reasonable distance to view.

I have to give this up but just one more. I just got back from Walmart. One end of the isle was marked beans- the other end, hispanic food. Given that I went looking for the Italian food isle and when that failed. I started searching for dedicated isles to ethnic/ racial food. No luck! Here is another target for our weird inspired society.

How many here have heard the story of Frenchy Duret? I'm sure someday people will cringe at our barbaric past and move to change the names of places like Frenchy's Meadow, that remind us of how things once were. Glad I will be dead when those people are the norm, and not just the loud minority.

I don’t know that creek but @Big Fin has some interesting lake names near his family stomping grounds in northern MN that are also near my family/friends cabins:

Sequentially From East to west are 3 lakes:

Big Dick Lake
Little Dick Lake
Jack The Horse Lake

Think there was some kind of contest that resulted in naming those lakes?

Ha ha that doesn't take much. I just think the outrage is confusing.

We had a statue here in town that was erected by the Wives of the Confederacy. They tore it down and put up the equity ball or something in its place. Huge outrage from the community.

This fountain consisted of 80% homeless people urin. Literally nobody goes to appreciate it. It was an eyesore and a convenient landmark for drug deals. I'd bet that not one of these people upset by the change had visited that fountain in the last 10 years.

It just seems like another stupid thing to get upset about. A name is a name is a name. Let the idiots argue about what to call the mountains, I'll be too busy hunting them.

Just my par-baked thoughts on the topic.

It doesn't bother me much to change. Squaw tit was a good one to change. In general squaw <blank> referred to something undesirable (squaw fish, squaw berries, etc...).

Not sure I've ever seen an undesirable one. If I remember correctly Ron White has a joke about that too.

IIRC it was also Rodney Carrington. We were traveling to the mountains one August and my just turned 13 yo son asked me to play a Carrington CD he had. My dumbazz couldn't get that CD ejected fast enough when he got to the really raunchy stuff.
