The replies are interesting here. I haven’t read them all, but as a pale ass German, French, Irishman I’m not sure what to say. Should names be changed? A portion of my family left Germany to escape Nazi’s. My family name is Van Hamme, but had to be “Americanized” to Hamm when they moved here because many Americans treated them like they were Nazi’s. What have other countries done in similar situations? Did they change them? What was the effect? Learn from the past. I’d be pissed if I still lived in Germany and there were still statues of Hitler and my favorite hunting spot was named Hitler Creek or Dead Non-Nazi Gulch.
