MONTANA FISH, WILDLIFE & PARKS ANNOUNCES OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLE GRANT-WRITING WORKSHOP AND GRANT DEADLINE

Trail riders seeking funds for off-highway trail maintenance, education, and noxious-weed control should consider attending Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks' free grant-writing workshop set for March 1 in Helena.

The workshop is designed to help agencies, organizations and clubs apply for a 2004 Off-Highway Vehicle Grant. The workshop will be held March 1 at FWP headquarters in Helena, 1420 East Sixth Ave. beginning at 10 a.m.

OHV grants, ranging from $5,000 to $20,000, can be used to maintain existing OHV trails, for education, signage and noxious weed control. The grants are funded by the gasoline tax and OHV registration fees. The 2004 Off-Highway Vehicle Grant application deadline is June 1.

For information to register for the grant-writing workshop, or to obtain the grant application form, call 406-444-7317, or email: [email protected]. Watch for the grant application form on the FWP web site soon.

They sure don't need no grant to ride wherever they want in Idaho! And the last thing they'd want is to have a trail they have to stay on!

Ask the people who actually get out in the woods and dont have blinders on.

I lived in MT for a long time, and I saw and continue to see all kinds of ATV abuse. Most all of friends in MT see a lot of it too. Matter of fact saw it this year quite a bit while I was hunting MT, some jerkass riding around signed, gated roads.

My goodness Buzz!!!
Your kind of a bitter feller aren’t you!!!

I actually travel a lot of country by foot and vehicle, and don't see the wonton destruction that you seem to claim, according to you, one would think most of Montana has been clear cut, raped, and pillaged of any natural resources that are there...You can only see the bad and evil, no matter on how small a scale and blow it up to make it sound as if the world is coming to an end, this is the only way that you think you can be heard. Well I am here, I hear you, I look even harder for what you tout and shout, only to find a bare smidgeon of what you say is true, the other is over inflated humdrum the sky is falling nonsense...

Of course if you got off the beaten track as much as you seem to say you do, you wouldn't see these people doing this, I don't see much abuse in the Big hole area where I frequent the most. I also see fairly tall grass in most of it, I am learning the plants as fast as I can, they are totally different from Washington, but am learning them non the less. I learn by seeing and experiencing, not just reading a book and running on blind faith that the author of it actually knew what they were talking about. Same as you, here, I read what you post, when there is something that you actually post with out ranting or raving and look at it with open eyes for myself. I even come on here tell you what I saw, and you try and tell me that I am wrong. Should I believe you or my lying eyes....
