Nut Jobs Harrass Idaho Wolf Hunter

Robert Millage, who successfully took a wolf on the opening morning of Idaho's historic 2009 wolf season, says he has received 50 phone calls and hundreds of e-mails calling him a "wolf murderer" and just about every dirty name in the book.

"I have a thick skin and a good sense of humor. What am I going to do, yell back at them?" he said. "I
obeyed the law and did what (Idaho Department of) Fish and Game wanted us to do. I can sleep well."

The story of Millage's hunt is impressive. He hiked in, found a spot off of the Lolo Motorway in the Lolo wolf hunting zone, and began using a predator call. When the wolf came in to 30 yards, he took it with his .243.

It appears that the harassment campaign was organized by a posting on the Boise Craigslist website (under Community > Politics). The posting has since been removed by the site.

In the Idaho Statesman yesterday, Robert Millage of Kamiah Idaho was pictured with the first murdered wolf. Here is what he had to say: "It was really an adrenaline rush to have those wolves all around me, howling and milling about after I fired the shot." ...
