Yeti GOBOX Collection

Note to self

Back in the seventies I came home from jump shooting ducks on the creek thirty miles from home just in time for dinner. Dad wanted to hear how my day went. Cold, snowing, walked a dozen miles, shot a couple of greenheads. "Did you feed Cocoa?" Oh my gosh! I left her at the creek. We jumped in my '53 Bel Air and put the pedal to the metal (no danger of a speeding ticket in that fliver). She was waiting for us at the gate. I could see tracks in the snow where a couple people who drove by stopped and investigated. But apparently she wouldn't leave with them. She didn't freak out at all when we arrived. Just sat there waiting for me to park, then walked over, and with a wag or two of her tail, hopped in the back seat. "What took you so long?" She knew I'd come back.

Thanks for bringing back that memory.

Ohhhh so many stories to relate! Years ago I met my uncle early one morning to go rabbit hunting. He arrived and I got my gun case out with my Mossberg 500 in side....except when I unzipped the case I saw a brass butt plate. As I continued to pull the 12 gauge out slowly it somehow became my .50 cal Hawken muzzleloader. I slid it back in the case zipped it up and unzipped it pulled it out and.....no it didn't turn into my 12 gauge. He laughed and I said I would lug it around incase we found some deer. He explained to me that I was a ignorant mule. With his kind words of encouragement that he so elegantly bestowed upon me I decided to leave the smoke pole in the truck and help his overweight or as he called it "Canadian Beagle" bust brush to see if we could get some cotton tails in our bag. We had a great time and took turns busting bunnies!

I hiked up and down a ridge for 3-5 miles in trail runners this year because I was in such a rush I forgot to put my boots on. It actually wasn’t bad.

I jumped into a stock tank one summer with my phone in my pocket and swam around for a good five minutes before I realized it. This was in my bachelor days so there were a handful of ladies wondering why I didn’t answer my phone for three days. It all worked in my favor. 😇

I did forget all my outer layers one time but realized it a hour down the highway. I was super pissed at myself but was thankful because it was one of those rare times it snowed and was cold in TX.
