Welcome to the 2021 season! The ice and snow has finally left and the work begins. Got some fishing action to share, food plots going in, the local farmer that plants my main field has planted it to a green field this year instead of corn so that should be a good change of pace. I just heard on the radio this morning that my daughter will be able to crossbow and rifle hunt with me this fall at 13 in Jefferson county this fall so she will be excited about that! With Memorial Day just this past weekend I want to thank all of my fellow Vets for their service, and pray for those that didn't make it home. Hope everyone is healthy and safe I will be checking in soon with pictures and short stories as usual!

Happy Fathers Day everyone! This is how I spent mine with my dad. Be sure to check out #Eyezonumcharter on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram if you are in the 1000 islands area and want to go fishing. We were on the water at daybreak and by 8 am we had 5 fish in the box. We boated 7 Lakers and 1 King Salmon, and took home 6 Lakers and 1 salmon, one laker was on the small size and put it back for seed. If I get a minute later I will post a couple of videos as well!

Glad to see that some counties are having some sense and letting the kids hunt with guns and crossbows younger. Grew up in NY and love to get back to use my lifetime license. Enjoyed the pics, brings back lot memories.

They just changed Jefferson and Lewis counties to 12 for rifle and crossbows for kids. My daughter is all excited

Sorry I’m a little slow at getting stuff posted this year! It’s been crazy this year. My 12 year old flat coated retriever died last week(rest in peace Shiloh), my tractor broke down, so putting in food plots has been challenging.

my hunting buddy ended up borrowing a couple of tractors and some equipment so we got about an acre planted today which is a far cry from what I wanted to have planted by this time. Thank god for the local farmer who planted 12 acres of greens on mine which I’m sure he will chop soon for green feed,as well as my 5 acres of clover plots which keeps my summer herd fed.3C1FC5FA-71ED-407B-A711-B0D53C18F9D4.jpeg1E65DD12-DFE8-40E2-8A41-5E8196E0C2A5.jpeg8F0553F5-0EFD-45A2-A933-70F26FED0A49.jpeg58D79DA0-5219-4346-B95D-8F16EADAFE25.jpeg

Sorry for the loss of your friend. As I have said before, it’s just not fair that their lives are so short.

Aw, sorry about the loss of your dog. They definitely don't live long enough, but I'm guessing he/she had a really good life with you.

My middle son is also going to benefit from the change in hunting age and he's psyched! Now if we can just get this deer management plan passed, we'll be able to hunt extended hours too!

We have a couple plots in St. Lawrence County. The recent rains and a dose of nitrogen really made them take off !!

So this year my father has moved down to my neck of the woods and he sold his camp to a disabled veteran. I have spent the last two months asking around the area in which we live for hunting property that is close for my father to get to. I managed to get 2 twenty acre properties connected to each other in a very high deer density spot 3 miles from the house. Got a ground blind brushed in and a ladder stand on a major well warn runway crossing in thick cover with a red cedar licking branch within bow range. We are very excited about this spot and have high hopes to fill a bunch of tags theretrail.jpglick.jpg

Been practicing with my kids shooting their bows and getting them ready for their first archery season as well as shooting my x-bow. My kids have grown a lot and have made huge improvements in their shooting ability. I look forward to hunting with them and dad this year.

We are very happy with the changes in the NY big game regulations, especially changing the hours to 30 minutes before sunrise and 30 minutes after sunset. The orange clothing requirement isn't a problem as we usually wear at least a hat anyway. With the reduction in minimum age requirement, one of our young hunters now qualifies to hunt big game. Our brassica food plots are up to a deer's belly. Good luck and keep us posted !

Saw lots of birds and a few red squirrels but no deer.

Next morning I had to go to work but my retired buddy got out on his lease and scored!
