Nice to see North Carolina getting proactive on road hunting  . I can't believe that shoot across roads is currently legal. Welcome to the 21st century.

Ban Of Hunting From Roadside Clears Another Hurdle

POSTED: 5:15 pm EDT May 5, 2005

RALEIGH, N.C. -- If Gov. Mike Easley approves, then people will no longer be able to hunt from the roadside.

On Thursday, a bill to make it illegal to hunt on major roadways cleared the state Senate -- its final hurdle in the Legislature.

The law also makes it illegal to shoot across roads while on the hunt.

Violators could get a $250 fine.

Only a $250 fine? Geez what about repeat offenders? If people there are anything like the ones here, they will just pay their fines and go right back out and do it again. To them that kind of money is well worth getting an easy kill. I see hunters here in my area alone doing things they aren't allowed to do. But no one wants to give stiffer fines and such.
