So I have some friends that don't hunt but want to go to Africa. .... i know, strange huh ;)

But does anyone have any info on safari photo packages or something liek that that they have heard of or have been on ? Links to webpages or cantacts, etc.\

Also, what part is the best to go ? South Africa ? Namibia ? Zimbabwe ? Etc ?

"Best" place to go is relative.....price or animals?
South Africa may be cheapest and you can do Kruger NP, maybe some of the Trans-Frontier Parks and the Ele Enclave--Addo?--in East Cape.
But I would go to Tanzania---Ngorogoro Crater is awesome as is Taringire NP plus there is the Serengette, Kilomanjaro, Lake Victoria, and other destinations.Nothing quite like watching animals ignore vehicle---watching Lions take down a Zebra, Cheetah take an Impala and seeing incredible Ele's and Buffalo...a day or so at the crater and Taringire will provide these opportunities....ever see lions screw? Damn, they got a lot of energy!!
Try [email protected] and tell her a client of Wes Hixon sent you to her. If you have google goggles, you might try there too...

Email sent, thanks.

If I google Africa safari you get 1 billion options. I'm sure most are OK, but I'd like to weed out the crappy ones too ;)

Check out Samaria Safaris. www.samaria.co.za

I've been with them a couple times. They're a small opperation, but will cater to anyone's wants/needs. The camp they currently run is about 2 hours east of Kruger in the Limpopo, and not far from the Tuli in Bots. They can/will take them Victoria falls in Zim as well as other NPs in the area.

I can't see going on a photo safari for more than a few days, its all of the same after a while. I've been to Kruger twice, the second time by the end of day one I was done. I'm sure the parks farther to the north in Kenya, Tanzania, or Ethriopia would be much more scenic. Then again I'm not sure I would want to base a vacation on one location alone. I like to see the sights and experience the culture a little.

Anyway look them up. Quinton is a hell of a golfer and if your friends are intersted in hitting the links for a day or two he'd be more than happy to take them out. I've golfed a couple times in Africa... one of the high points of the vacations.

South Africa is a big country, and very diverse. The Drakensberg mountains are worth seeing as is the western coast. South Africa has a lot to offer IMO and is pretty cheap to get to and from.

If non-hunting friends go to Kruger, tell them not to set snares to poach "bush meat"....Lions ate a poacher about 10 days ago....

Thought of photo safrai never entered my mind...that sheit is for bunny huggers....I went to hunt and kill....then I had three days between my Tanzania hunt and my flight back to RSA for a second hunt. Nice lady at Tanzania Wildlife Co suggested I tour Ngorongoro and Taringire....damn! What a great experience! Took my PH buddy who was late 30's at time and got me my Tan deal and whom I had around 40 days of hunting in Zim with, who had partied at my house and me at his, and had never been on a photo safari either....he was so excited about it, he flew his wife and kids from Zimbabwe to Tan to take them! He must have taken 500 pics! I was awed by the experience! My trigger finger did do a lot of itching, tho...
