I was turned on to these guys buy a couple of co-workers. I'm digging the Townes Van Zant tunes. Never even heard of him until a couple of weeks ago.

The second guy is Todd Snider. I saw him in a concert about 2 years ago before I even heard one of his songs...he is one hell of a live storyteller. It was great music and stories all in one.

Now if you like "old style" country - this guy is good. He played at our club last Saturday...In answer to requests, he said that if the song was newer than 30 years old and the artist was still alive, they probably don;t know the song. :) (Not really, as he did some newer stuff, including a Jimmy Buffett song.)

Van Zant was a helluva songwriter....hell Pat Green still wells up when he talks about him.

Thanks for the Snider tip, hadn't heard him... "Tillamook" would make a helluiva good blues version. Gonna need to check him out.

Just finished Clapton's autobiography...reccommend. Next up; "Skydog"...Duane Allman's biography.
