Find one area/region in one state that you hunt multiple species. After 4-5 years you will really get to know an area.
As mentioned cow elk is the way to go for elk. Long seasons, cheap tags, not dealing with general tag crowds in Wyoming, etc...
Hunt Antelope, mule deer, whitetail, cow elk, and does until you can draw the bull tag.

The mount turn around was ridiculously quick. I opted to drive the cape and horns back to have them mounted in Georgia. I dropped them off the day before the start of rifle deer season here and so no one was in front of me in line. It was the guys first pronghorn so I’m super pleased with the result.
