ND Elk Reduction Results are out!!!

:hump:I dont know if anyone out of the state of ND knew about the elk reduction effort that is scheduled to start Nov. 1 of this year in the Theordore Roosevelt National Park but if you did and are waiting for the results then start looking for an envelope in the mail in the next couple of days. I checked the mail today and recieved an envelope from the Department of Interior National Park Service stating that I had been selected to take part in the elk reduction efforts!!! That is the best piece of mail that I had recieved in a long time!!!! Curiouse to hear if anyone else had been selected?

I am right next door to ND and I didnt know about the hunt. If I did and was allowed, I would have applied. Do the hunt include bulls?

The hunt is available to anyone that lives in the U.S... Unfortunately it is just a cow only hunt but im taking a camera with because they have HUGE BULLS there!!!! I'll only be able to shoot them with the ol camera...

There were a significant amount of special rules to participate in the hunt. I read the details at one point and (I believe) found I didn't have the time that they required you to be on site. Good luck on your hunt! It should be a lot of fun.

Lots of special rules and regulations, but at least they are letting hunters reduce the herd instead of gunning them out of a helicopter. As ND Senator Dorgan said, "I think that's the way Teddy Roosevelt would want it."

It realy isnt all that complicated. All I have to do is shoot an 8" target 3 out of 5 times at 200yds and pass a background check. As far as having to be there for 5 days, well hell its an elk hunt it should be five days. Im very glad they made it open to the public instead of goin the sharp shooter route. It just wouldnt seem right!!! I wish ol Teddy was back in office!!!! haha
