I have always got a kick out of how whitetail hunters count points. Sure makes the buck sound bigger if you include everything.;) Anyhow, not the big 10 I have been dreaming about for years but too solid to pass on a heavily hunted public land whitetail hunt for me anyhow. We will eat good this winter! :) My son Dan made his first trip with me this year and was able to kill his first whitetail buck. I was pretty happy to be able to make that happen!

Making neck roast French Dips out of his swollen up neck tomorrow. If you all have never tried that you should. I use to try and pick thru the tough neck and separate the sinew out to make burger until my buddy suggested the crock pot. Dry onion soup mix, beef broth, onions and a bottle of Black Butte Porter. Makes the best French Dips you will ever have! :food:

Going to have to find a new area to hunt next year I think. My area I have hunted the last 5 years seems to be overrun with hunters and deer numbers are dropping off quick. Much tougher hunting this year for us anyhow. Reduced price second (antlerless) tags this year will probably not help.:(

Congrats! I will have to try that crock pot idea. Thanks.

Nice buck! Except it's a three point:eek:

I did the crock pot thing with the neck roast this year, we did Philly sandwiches with them and they were outstanding!

Thanks guys!

That's a great buck if you ask me! Congrats

Me too absolutely! I just REALLY want to kill a 10 point (4 point with eye guards....whatever) whitetail to get a shoulder mount on. It will come!! Not going to pass up bucks like this one along the way....

Very well done congrats!!

BTW, 8 point is the proper way to count whitetails, regardless of what miller says! ;)
