MTA competition show pieces

Had a good show in Missouri this year...it never disappoints. Several world champions and world pieces there....its amazing the talent some taxidermists have!

I'll attach some pics of my 4 mounts I took. Hope you all fill up your taxidermist's shop with trophies this fall!

Most taxidermists' cats never look quite right in the face, but this one's gotta be one of the best I've seen. It's in the nose and the depth of the eyes; I think a lot of people struggle to get that concave cat face look just right but this one really nails it. Lips are perfect too.

I worked as an assistant to a taxidermist near me long enough to gain some appreciation for the craft. I don't work for him any more but I do think he entered something in the Missouri show you're referencing here. Anyways though, great mounts and thanks for sharing.

Thanks...He got a blue in the iowa competition this year. Different judges see things differently. The ribbons and awards are fun but the judges critiques are the real reason to attend these shows.
