MT up

No love for antelope! I had planned on being in MT come October. More time to chase mulies with a bow I guess.

I drew a 700 area speed goat tag on a third choice, the only one in my family, so i have an eight hour drive for one antelope. might end up eating that tag:D

No love for elk, deer, or antelope. Looks like Randy might have a permanent water boy for the season.:( Going to have to get an elk and deer the good old fashion over the counter way.

Good Luck to the rest of you guys. Lots of pictures please:D

OH, my god, I drew, I can't believe it, but it's real. I drew the coveted archery 900 antelope tag. Whew!
Looks like I'll spend some time in an oven baking.

Missoulaz28, last speed gote I kilt up near Baker, I gave to friend from Billings for dawg food....don't you have any dogs to make trip worthwhile???

BTW, my son, I, good friend from Baker and friend from Billings already had 7 Gotes down and plenty of summer sausage....draw and OTC musta been easier several years ago...two 14-inchers amongst the dead....

I'll probably make out to scout for deer in a new area and tip a goat over while I'm at it. What's all this crap everyone says about antelope being horrible meat, as long as you take care of it rapidly I actually like it.

I agree, I like them too. That's why I've killed 17 of them in the last 5 years, and have 4 tags in my pocket this year. :D

+1 with you and Oak! They can be GREAT eats if taken care of right, especially if you shoot the young ones... :)

I'm with you guys. I will take a buck antelope, if I get to do the field care and processing, over any muley buck or bull elk. Seems the first stuff to leave my freezer is antelope. I am out of it by now, and glad I get to go to NM in three weeks to try get another one.
