Another day, and more calls for limits on the Fat-Assed ATV crowd. It is amazing, only a small percent of the ATVrs cause the problem, but yet, it seems like people all over want to limit their access.....

. COALITION ASKS FOR RESTRICTIONS ON MOTORIZED USE IN UTAH

As part of the public comment process for revising Bureau of Land Management resource plans, the Red Rock Heritage Coalition is asking the Bureau to restrict motorized use of public lands in southeastern Utah. The group also submitted a petition signed by 1,019 people -- 500 Grand and San Juan residents, and 519 visitors from across the country -- who support the coalition's more restrictive backcountry plan. Coalition members said they do not want to eliminate motorized vehicles from public lands, but they do want the agency to dedicate some areas for non-motorized recreation, such as hiking and horseback riding.

The Bureau is reviewing the coalition plan along with more than 7,000 comments received during the public scoping process. A draft environmental-impact statement and preferred-alternative management plan for Grand and San Juan counties will be available in February 2005.

The whole anti-ATV movement is starting to grow hair , and all because of a few lazy slobs who are unwilling to get off the machines and walk .
At least when the gummit F's up the environment they do it behind our backs and tell us it's in our best interest. But when a few idiots F-up the hunting with something so obvious as ATV tracks in every canyon , people will wake up and take notice.
