The whole family came for Billy Jo Hatfield and Lizzy Jo McCoy's wedding. There was more party than those old hills had seen in a month of Sundays... 'bout 9:00 or so that night, they all loaded the newly weds into a wagon and took them to their new cabin.
Later that night, Billy Jo's daddy heard the cabin door open and saw the candle lit at the table. When he went down stairs to see what was going on, he found Billy Jo sitting at the table.
"Son, you shouldn't be here at home, you should be with your new wife" Daddy said.
"Pa, I can't live with that woman... She's a virgin..."... Says Billy Jo...
"Son, you're right" says his Daddy. "If she ain't good enough for her kin, she ain't good enough for our'n".
