This is kind of timely considering the discussion about game farms on another thread.

Hi everyone,
Just an fyi, It has been a few years, but we are currently in the midst of yet another large-scale game farm investigation. The problem site is the Judith River Alternative Livestock ranch operated by Lynn & Janet Bowman, located in the Judith mountains N of Lewistown. FWP wardens & investigators have already served a civil revocation order on the Bowman’s to begin the administrative revocation of their license. Criminal charges are pending review by the Fergus Co Attorney but will likely include alleged wildlife felonies for theft and possession of our states wildlife, conspiracy to trap live deer, elk, & antelope, allowing ingress & egress of wildlife, failure to maintain fencing, falsification of game farm records etc. which may include allowing game farm animals to be shot for personal gain. Based on our experience I’d consider this is the usual slate of offenses for purposeful and intentional game farm based crimes.
The attached link points out the obvious concerns and what has already occurred across N America. While we remain vigilant, we have been very lucky in Montana given that we are surrounded by disease problems and we have had several situations over past decades whereby game farm related situations have caused mingling with our native wildlife.
