Montana Whitetail Deux

Wow, cool buck.

This is one I have been after for a couple years. He lived mostly on a piece I couldn't hunt. Very dominate during the rut and since I had two bucks tags this was a good year to remove him.

Cool buck! Did it seem like that's all the bigger he was getting? He looks mature.

You're out of your mind to go sit in a tree stand in this weather.

No he hit this size and stayed. I slit the jaw and sent pics to a bio, he thought he was either 5 1/2 or 6 1/2. There are 2 more- same type of antler configuration so in my minds eye there is this genetic floating around. When I see them coming through the trees first glimpse of the body size gets me excited-then I cuss.

The temp is a issue, I felt like this headed there

Congrats on the 7 pointer! Looks like they've spread those genes all the way to southern Indiana as my buck from this year looked quite similar.

Congratulations. I bet your feet didn't think they were on the beach at Cancun sitting up in the treestand. Looks really super cold.

14 degrees when I climbed up 9 degrees climbing down. No messing around gutting out.

Sometimes the definition of insanity includes success...then it's called perspicacious persistence.Good job.

interesting same type of antler configuration on a few of the deer you see , do you see deer with other antler configurations in the area you hunt ?

Nice bucks with a bow, especially impressed with the fortitude to stand hunt in the bitter cold. But I need an explanation how you can kill two bucks in the same calendar year in Montana? Prison ranch aside, is there some late season hunt out there?
