I have a cow tag for units 620-22, 630-32. I need a little help with strategy. I am coming all the way from Florida and am limited to 7-10 days.

I hunted 621 last year for muleys and elk were very sparse. Should I plan on hunting the beginning, middle, or end of rifle season? Recommendations on which unit I should concentrate on? Thanks for any recs!

Honestly, it's not going to be rocket surgery. You should have little to no trouble finding elk. Get near timber, find a high point, look around. If that doesn't work, find a different high point near different timber. Do that 2 or 3 times and you'll find cow elk.

I am assuming you drew the 699-00 tag, which is the B tag valid only Dec 15- Dec 31. It has been my experience that by that time of year elk are in large bunches... like 200+. Where you find one elk you should easily find lots. I have spent a lot of time in 621 and 622. PM me and I can give you some areas to scope out.
