Will be in Lolo/Missoula this Fri-Mon and looking for local places to have b/fast and lunches. Any recommendations for non-tourist local dining?

Paul's Pancake Parlor for breakfast, Double Front Cafe for fried chicken lunches and dinners. Repeat as necessary.

Wow.

There is a place in Bonner, can't remember the name of it. Old railroad station right next to the big truck stop off the interstate. It has really good breakfast.

The place in Bonner is River City Grill, they are good.

In Missoula:
Burns Street Bistro, great for lunch, they are on the northside.
Dino Cafe (inside charlie B's bar downtown Missoula)
If you like Wings go to the Desperado, they also have other great bar food, I really like their burgers along with Wings.
Looking for more of a Fancy dinner, the Depot downtown has great prime rib
Tamarack Brewing downtown
Old Post Downtown

In lolo I like KT's hayloft breakfast
Uptown diner in Downtown Missoula also has good breakfast.

Good recommendations above. Not a bad meal in any of them.

Lisa's Pasty Pantry is good, one of the better reuben's in town.
Notorious P.I.G. is good BBQ (especially if smoked pork belly is the special)
Stone of Accord - great hangover b-fast if you are inclined to need it.

All of the restaurants noted are great, as well as:
-The Indian Grill and Curry House (if you like legit Indian food, its on E Broadway near downtown)
- Marsalla (near Reds Bar, downtown)
-Sa Wa Dee (if you like Thai food)
- Taco Del Sol makes a good burrito for a good price
- Docs Soup & Sandwich (downtown....legit sandwiches and try the Hangover Stew)

For breakfast or lunch on Sat, go to the Farmers Market. There is a place called Just Barbecue that makes BBQ pork or brisket breakfast burritos (pork or brisket, eggs, potatoes w/green chilis, etc with homemade BBQ sauces to choose from. Trust me, go get one, you're welcome............

Was just there over the weekend. We ate at almost all the recommended places. Paul's Pancake House was really good and the Double Front Fried Chicken was a hit with everyone.

Did Tamarack for breakfast Sunday morning. It was good and big portions. I didn't get them but the Chicken and waffles looked like it would feed a family of 4.

The Notorious PIG catered the Graduation party for my daughter and it was above my expectations for BBQ.

Now just have to pay of the CC bills from having the crew in Missoula for 3 days.

Worth a drive to Hamilton for a burger or chicken sandwich at Naps! Well worth the 45 minute drive and the Bitterroot mountains are nice to look at. A guy could swing into Cooper Arms at the Stevensville junction and look at some of their rifles and what they do. If you call and want to see everything you can get set up for a tour, but you have to call and get it set.

Lolo Creek steakhouse still puts out a good steak cooked over open fire using Larch!!

I like The Shack for breakfast.

I know you said lunch and not dinner but the Pearl is worth waiting around for.

Some dang good restaurants in the Zoo. The Red Bird is damn good too.

Thanks all! Decided to get an earlier start on Friday so we can get there for dinner. Not looking forward to being in the truck for 7+ hours though.

Randy hit it on the head - Paul's Pancake Parlor for breakfast with a close second for the Shack.

Is Jonny Carino's Southern Italian restaurant a chain? Regardless, great food! The BEST freekin' "Italian" nachos I've had from a restaurant! Dinner, The Depot is a bit pricey though will find it hard to beat for an end cut spice rub of prime.

Thanks Sytes! Jonny Carino is out. We kind of burned out on them before they closed here in March. Prime rib end cut I could do!

Did Notorius Pig yesterday. Went to the Oxford for a burger and beer lunch today. Stopped at a pavilion listened to a tree-hugger rant about trapping for about two seconds. My horn on the truck seemed to stick on the way out of the parking lot.

Notorious PIG had became my new favorite place to eat there. Some of the better BBQ I have had up north. I also enjoy a beer and the gnocchi at Flathead Lake Brewing Co for something a little nicer. Tamarack has plenty of good options on the menu.

Gave eating a break today and took in the National Bison Range. Saw plenty of buffs, lopes, one big horn, couple elk and deer. Hit some mexican restaurant across from Cabelas on the way back to Lolo. Was going to hit the brewery at the bottom of the hill where we are staying, but too full. Need to get back to Boise and put the house on the market....
