Mid Week MN Buck

After a Nov 3rd opening weekend w minimal deer activity, I decided to try a new area monday afternoon of the 3A shotgun season. This guy almost snuck by me in some tall grass & cedars at last light. 1st shot at 50 yds was lethal, but he was only 70 yds from private property & heading that way...so I kept shooting. Was a grunt getting him out by myself after dark, but a neighboring farmer let me short cut through his field.

Nice buck looks like he's a little swollen in the neck, much rutting activity down there, I didn't see a buck untill last Thursday then I seen 3 in a row all on does.

Reports from my neck of the woods & circle of friends is "fair" rut activity. Seems more like the seeking phase. Sniffing around, following. No reports of "chasing". Seems like best buck activity is the usual 1st hr & last, but also several bucks seem from 11-12 am.
