Here is a sling that we made for packing. It’s either a standard rifle sling that you can use traditionally, or it converts to a secure pack sling for hiking.

I’ve been using it the last two seasons. It works great and is not an issue for me to grab my binos or rangefinder.

Didn't Martha Stweart go to jail for child labor laws?

Looks like a cool idea!

Selling them?
How much?

I thought she was into insider trading, not sweat shops?

No. I’m not selling them. I’d be happy to share the measurements and materials used.

Best case is someone gives me a free pack and runs with it.

It may be too close to the gun bearer in design, but the QR buckle, integrated sling set it apart, and the orientation of the rifle differ.

It’s fairly simple for a DIY and quite handy.
The first versions I made were adjustable in length off the pack so you could draw it up tight or let it swing forward a little. Once I found a length that worked for me, I made that a fixed point on the shoulder strap. Although, depending on where exactly you attach it, you can get a little adjustment still.

Here is the adjustable version.

The very first year I used the extra straps that come with the Metcalf that are supposed to be used for expanding out the meat shelf. So, if you have a Mystery Ranch, or your pack came with something similar, you can take all the slack out of the straps and roll it up on the Velcro keepers, and hook it on. It worked the same, just hung a little more forward.
It also kept sliding down the sling and letting the gun angle forward, so at some point on the hunt I made a keeper out of paracord.

What did you use for the buttstock holder? Looks like Badlands something?

Thats sweet! I keep talking about learning to sew. May have to actually commit.
