Hello,

I've been lurking on the forums for awhile and decided it was time to join. My name is Jim, I'm a Scorpio, I enjoy long walks on the beach, cuddling.....wait, wrong forum. Fairly new to hunting as I didn't grow up with it. In fact this year will be my first year hunting with my own firearm rather than a borrowed one. I drew a cow elk tag this year and can't wait to put some meat in the freezer. This year may not be my year, but at some point I will be in the running for CSEH.

Welcome.

New hunters do have an advantage in the CSEH contest, so you should be in the running for the final award. No kill is necessary and a tough man pose with a cig hanging from your lip is the preferred image for judges to consider.

Sounds like you're going to be just fine here Jim...

Welcome.

Welcome from a fellow "late bloomer" in the Front Range. Best of luck. I scored on my first elk hunt and wish you the same mojo!!

I struck out last year on an elk. I did help my brother in law hump out his Mulie though. I like the area I'm in this year better and my odds with a cow tag.

I'm wondering if Cushman is excited or scared!

Welcome aboard.

Anybody named Jim has to be a good guy.

Thanks everyone for the greetings. I don't have a ton of skill hunting yet, but I do have enthusiasm and a strong back. Especially for you archery hunters I could offer some help humping things out. Seems like a bunch of us Coloradans and I'm hunting 2nd rifle so I'm happy to offer my back for the pack out.

Jim

Welcome & good luck on that cow tag. We're having elk for supper tonight; the hunt is reward enough, but success does make it sweeter and then eating it brings back the memories.

Welcome Jim.

Rumor has it CSEH 2014 winner will be sporting a manly pose in nuthin' but crocks and prototype KUIU speedo and of course with the obligatory smoke hanging from pie hole . The thought of Cush and Dink in a dance off after the photo shoot is chilling at best. You want none of that.

Are you on West slope or "the other side".

KHunter,

Longmont. About 200 yards from my favorite brewery. I only hope the KUIU speedos are Merino Wool. You know...breathable!
