Lion attacks woman; friends stab lion; bloody lion tracked, killed bloodily
A 27-year-old woman lost her right eye (well, according to CNN), and a mountain lion ultimately lost its life, in an attack that took place in national forest land that two years ago was scorched by forest fire.

Shannon Parker was hiking with three male friends when she was attacked by a 70-pound female mountain lion. Her friends drove off the animal with rocks and knifes, and it left a bloody trail when it fled the scene.
