Less than 1 club

Brother and I were discussing this today. Gas in the '70's was 29 cents per gallon. Both of us were students and he had a family. Poor as a pauper. Cheap gas allowed a little food on the table.

Summer of ‘72 a few friends & I drove to FL from NY for a week before college. If you paid $0.25, you got screwed! And the stations pumped the gas, checked your oil & some washed your windshield...

Filled the F150 today, $2.09....

Lowest I can remember buying was just under a dollar. If you saw gas for under a dollar you stopped an filled up whether you needed it or not.

Haven't looked locally recently to see where our prices are at. Last I recall paying under a buck was in North Carolina in 1998, I believe.

If the prices stay that low into September it will definitely make the 2000 mile trip west a lot easier on the wallet compared to previous years.
