Less hunter opportunity to a district near you!

Yeah...the hunter's elk won't feed the wolves...just like your tax dollars aren't hiring lawyers for terrorists...

That's pretty amazing stuff. I left the Bitteroot valley in 1987, and I would have never thought I would be reading such things.
If the calf numbers quoted are anywhere near accurate, the predator factor has got to be playing a large role. But the people in Ravalli Co. have got to have a handle on what's happening too. I remember those people and their attitudes on such things... they're opinions should hold considerable credence. But that doesn't necessarily mean the state will listen to them...

It's the first time sense I have been involved in the tentative process that the state has taken suggestions and applied them. It's 4 years too late though. We know that predation is huge across the board. Lions, Bears, coyotes, and Wolves are at all time highs. Humans have been loving the either-sex seasons. It's now time to pay the piper though. If you researched some of my posts, you'd of seen where I was screaming for the slaughter to slow down years ago. There's lots of things coming together to bring the game back, we need help with the wolf season. We need the Indian tribes to slow way down. We're going to have to cut NR tags back to 1980 levels. Those last three things haven't happened yet. Hunters will have to go else where and put pressure on there, just not the Bitterroot. They'll be very little opportunity for quite some time. Like I keep preaching. This is just the beginning, and it's coming to a district near you. To much pressure on the resource. It's funny the private lands aren't nearly as bad as the public. Do predators read no trespassing signs and obey them?

That ain't good. Those units are going to be my stomping grounds next fall. Hopefully they get a handle on things before it gets too much worse.
