Yesterday was opening day for Spring Turkey here in Kentucky. Got set up before first light and had 4 different birds gobbling as it was getting light. Ran a call and this bird cut me off while still on the roost. Not 10 minutes later he gobbled again on the ground and was close. Saw him coming in through some Locust trees and when he saw my strutter decoy, he came on in strutting and flogged the decoy and I rolled him with the 20 gauge. Killed him at 10 til 7, so it was a quick hunt. 22 pounds 14 oz, and a 11” beard. Thank you Lord!
