OMG, it is a ball breaker. You can put as much or as little into the race as you want. I couldn't run the whole thing, no way. My buddy did, but he is an animal, took third in his heat. I will definitely be doing it again next year, looks like they already have it scheduled on the course. The big wigs at Spartan Race loved the course, said it is one of the toughest and favorite in the country.

My wife and kids came along to cheer me on.

There was some ripped and stacked men and women there. Some tough dudes for sure.

Please!!!!

I will note about this race, if you can't do any of the obstacles, you have to drop and do 30 burpees. I was in a wave of 200 people to start at 10-15, by the time I even got to that rope, it was greased pig slippery. They ran us through a muddy spring 10 yards from those ropes. I couldn't keep my shoes on those knots, I almost dropped another nut pulling with my arms to get up there. Of course those ropes were right in front of the whole crowd too. There was a good 25 people doing burpees next to those ropes. I did make it to the top and rung the bell. Thank God.

Congrats on finishing an awesome race. My wife and youngest son were up there today and ran it as well. Funny that you're already talking about next year b/c my better half is already asking me to run it with her next year. It looks like fun and I wish I'd have done it this year.

Great job!

Ummmmm, I'm at the point in my life where I have to ask, are there age groups? mtmuley

Nope. There are people of all shapes sizes and ages. You just go in waves of 200. There were some people in not so good of shape running or walking I should say. Spartan Racing is just about trying to get people out and trying to change their lives. There are the elites of course that really compete.

You can enter a team and help each other out during the race too.

I was personally impressed with how well organized it was. For a first year deal. They had everything hammered out. It is run on Averrils elk ranch, so it is private property, so Keith Hammer and the Swan View Coalition can't sue the FS, like they did with the Swan Crest 100 mile run they did.

Good job! That looks like a fun race, we contemplated making the drive over for it. The entry fee was a little steep, so we passed.

So I just put my little girl in bed. She says to me, "I can't believe you won the race!". I said, I didn't win the race. She goes, "Dad, finishing the race, is winning."

Brings up a lump in the throat I tell ya.

Haha! Awesome stuff!

My wife did the "dirty dash" and loved the heck out of it. I heard the Spartan is one of the most desired for those hard core cross fit gurus.

Grats on a great time with family!

Draaht, Well done bud! Your daughter has it right.

Some good looking schwag from that race.

Well, cross that idea off my list. I will leave it to the animals like you. I would need ambulatory assistance, I am sure.

Congrats. Right now I'm happy just running and leaving my off trail adventures to my hunting excursions.
