Planning and anticipation of a western hunt is a full year of foreplay....you should be able to ascertain what the hunt symbolizes.

My problem is, I tend to plan myself right out of vacation time pretty fast. The deeper you dive in, the more opportunities you discover. I've probably got enough adventures "planned" to fill a decade's worth of PTO.

That gets better with time as you'll have more PTO. Right now my biggest hurdle is planning around how much of what of kids I'm going to miss... One shortcut in Sept will be to just take the kid with me. Should draw odds stay the same, my 12yo will be in WY hunting pronghorn this year.

Good luck to your kid I hope he or she draws . My son is only 2 but in couple years I’m going to start taking him with to Montana . By time he’s 12 he will have a great shot to draw a Bull permit since I started buying for him right after he was born

I hear you on the kids part also. That'll be a good starter trip for him.
