Interesting study on CWD

I do know after talking with a guy on that Wyoming study, the mathematical model shows extinction but they do not believe it will happen. Generally the G&F folks I have talked with say they do not believe that deer herd , or any in our endemic CWD area will become extinct due to the disease, or virus as some now speculate.

Just wary of the CWD. Hunted unit 34 in NM most of my life. First deer there. Hunted elk there last season. Know the unit well, hunted there since 1972. Confirmed CWD.

Did not apply there this year. Not worth my concern and if is an very active concern and not knowledge.

Hope someone comes up with a solution.

I don't think that is possible. Usually a piece of the brain stem or the retro-pharyngeal lymph nodes (like tonsils) are extracted from recently deceased animals and tested.
