First off please no comments about me just trying to get an easy animal or someones secret spot I am just starting out this will be my first elk hunt carrying a weapon have been with family but have never drew therefore never bought a tag and trying to get a good starting spot, I am not looking for a specific spot. please PM me if you are interested in helping out a new hunter.

You won't get an easy elk in either of those units.
Used to hunt 36 a couple of years ago (archery). Moved away because of the amount of wolves in the area. It is steep country so make sure you are conditioning. Get at least a mile away from access points and do some scouting. They are still there, just not as many as there used to be.
