Ok boys, back from 2months of chasing elk, deer and antelope and still have the itch (but not the freezer room) for one last hunt of fall. Hopefully i can post some pics in winter but got a great 6x6 at 10 yards with my bow, so far it's highlight of season but want to add a good whitetail to this year's list of accomplishments. I have shots LOTS of whitetails back in my east coast days and am comfortable hunting them just looking for recommendations about where. I am heading around Bonners Ferry Idaho probably sunday (5nov?) Any suggestions as far as where to go once up there? Gonna bring my SxS and camp trailer so if there are trails thats great to get deeper. This is a just for fun hunt if anyone else gonna be up around that way let me know, any useful experiences are welcome! Rut should be about to start never hunted there but sounds like unique experience and am looking forward to the adventure. Hope everyone else is having a great season....

I cant help you with that particular area, but it might be a little soon for the rut. Still will be a good hunt though, I believe that area got a good bit of snow over the last few days. Good luck!

I've been seeing scrapes for about a week now a couple hours south of where you'll be. If you can find a really big scrape in thick timber don't be afraid to spend some time sitting near it for a while and just seeing what might come by. If hunting in thick timber its hard to move too slow.

Thanks for info guys, rolling that way in morning hopefully highway is clear been getting some snow at house. Will post PIC when I get back
