In all my years in the mountains, I have never seen what we saw this weekend on our Idaho spring bear hunt. Here is a few videos of us watching 2 mtn lions put a stalk on some elk. About 9 am, 3 bulls come running out of the trees into an opening. They kept their eyes on the tree line so we were hoping a big boar just ran them out......instead of a big bruin, 2 mtns lions came out. At that point they split up and one disappeared into the trees as the other one circled below and started to put a couple stalks on the elk. Now looking at the videos, it seems to us that the one lion was trying to drive the 3 bulls into an area of the trees where we saw the other one disappear. The bulls had nothing of it, and would run the stalking lion off. There were several other videos, but these were the best.
