Been a busy fall and have not had a chance to post up my wifes success on her cow moose hunt this fall.

Day 1 was very slow with only one moose sighting after shooting hours.

We tried hard to find the moose by taking boots off and crossing cold waters.

Day 2 brought more of the fall colors that we all like to see

At 9 am on the second morning she had her first close encounter with a moose at 27 yards and got two great shots on her.

Her first shot was a direct hit to the heart. It's amazing how strong these animals are.

Awesome story. That is awesome she shot it with a bow. Great pic of the heart. Congrats to her on filling the freezer and getting a nice moose. Is she going to apply in the future for a bull tag? Great pictures!

Sage - We have small children and she does not feel like she can put in the time on a bull hunt. I think I'm going to switch from sheep to moose though and go for a bull. They are much more fun than I ever thought and man oh man do they taste good!

Thats cool, maybe she'll try for bull after your kids are big enough to hunt with you guys. Well hopefully us Hunttalkers will here about a bull hunt from you in the next couple seasons. I have had moose steaks once, a few years ago. They were good!

Congrats to your Mrs. Congrats to you for having such a great hunting partner.

Congrats to her boy she sure laid a shot on that moose she didn't go far I'm sure of that.... Gonna be some great eating around your house for a while:)

Awesome, congrats to her. That in eastern Idaho? Looks like an area I am pretty familiar with...
