I love Colorado but

I love water, especially the ocean, but the bugs and humidity are what keep me from it too much. When go home in the summer I plot all of my movements based on air conditioning :) Beautiful though.

Eh the grass isn't always greener. I live in CO and love it most of the time, but constantly think what it would be like to move back to my family's place near the Catskills in Upstate NY. Looks like you have a pretty nice setup!

I am a Colorado native but the politics, taxes and better job got me moved to Cheyenne. Since then, I love Colorado too but not the politics which are now bad enough to keep me from going back. Pretty country though and nice hunting opportunities for sure. Denver Metro area now has more separate taxes than I can count on both my feet and hands and even more than the teef I have left.

The local atmosphere down here in the Springs area (and most of the state geographically) is still good, but with the Cali-radoans in Denver/Boulder/FoCo now in control of statewide politics is is not the best......our governor is a breathing shizz show. :( CPO lives in Wellington and I will take 470, pay the tolls and drive the extra miles just to avoid Denver.

There is always give and take places but (at least for now) this is the best compromise for me.

I left Colorado before the current bozo got elected to Governor. Ones before him were not a whole lot better. What happened in Colorado switched me from semi-independent to hardcore conservative. And then the job situation, I was on a job on the average of 5 years and got a layoff after I retired from the military. Good thing that came out of it though is I now have four different retirements to draw from and social security on top of that and will make more in retirement than I now do working for the State of Wyoming.
