If we are on that side it depends on what trails (if any) have been cleared. Have gone in from Walker Flats, Santa Barbara, Trampas etc. We carry a 5' two-man saw over one of the mules and everybody has a good saw on their saddle. Last year we planned for a 4-5 hour ride from SB and it turned out to be a 16 hour marathon ride/fallen timber jump-or-cut mess. The other side of the wilderness is much more civilized in terms of open trails but the ride can be longer. We have 6 salt sites in the Pecos so whichever is easiest.
