I took a couple of really decent blokes shooting with me this week, both missed a roe deer, so i thought sod it time to go out on my own.
First call, a farmer rang me and said can i shoot a young fallow buck that was bothering his pregnant sheep and he was worried they would abort, first morning he wasn't there, next morning he was, winding the sheep right up, so i did as requested.

I had seen a nice group of stags around my area, i spied them this morning at first light there were 6 of them, but i was a long way from them, by the time i stalked into position they were going back into the timber (no good as it then joins another private farm where i can't shoot) he was the last one, but only presented a Texas heart shot (not for me!) i quickly raised my sticks and i barked at him, he turned broadside, i have to admit he was a magnificent beast and i almost didn't squeeze one off, but hell if i didn't somebody else would. Only downside of being on ones own is the extraction, he was a heavy deer!

Cheers
Richard
