Hunting the holidays

Has always kind of been kind of a tradition for us to do a morning hunt on Thanksgiving. This year I have to smoke the turkey so no Turkeyday hunt for me this year.

Holiday or not, I hunt when I want to. My family understands. mtmuley

I hunt some over the holiday breaks, and still spend the majority of day with the family. We are leaving out this morning for 4 days in a usfs cabin by Wise River. I plan to elk hunt a couple mornings and take the kids rabbit hunting. The rest of the time will be spent sledding, games, cooking, hot springs, etc. I believe in getting your wife, kids involved.

I only archery and muzzleloader hunt in MN, so there has never really been a conflict. I do have family that hunt over the holidays, but I am not sure I would.

Arizona elk season starts the day after Thanksgiving. I have a tag. Will not be home for Thanksgiving, but will have both my father & my son with me. Best of both worlds.
