I just heard on the 6 pm news that a AZ hunter was shot and killed on the san carlos resevation...mistaken for an ELK. W.T.F. Again. [ sorry no details] 
Hunter killed.

I don`t know...but the latest i heard is a young kid hunting with his dad shot and killed his FATHER....Now the indians at San Carlos indian reservation said they will require hunter orange in the future.

We all know the three stages of a hunter and this sounds like a case of a young man feeling the need to qualify himself as a hunter to his father. When we take youngsters out and give them the power of taking life (a gun or bow) it does not matter what is allowed as far as hunter orange, ect. We must put them in a position not to make these kind of mistakes. If he is hyped up at the prospect of tagging a big game animal, sometimes the urge to pull that trigger is too great! I think Hunter orange was made the law in 1972 in Louisiana and I thought IT was a stupid law. Well, I don't let my boy hunt unless he and the others on the lease are wearing Hunters Orange. This is really a sad event that could have been prevented so easily.

Draftstud, the kid that killed his father was 24 years old!!! Its sad enough he killed his own Dad, but his license should be revoked forever, and maybe charges brought.

Whiskers, I found out later in the day the age of the shooter, I still believe what I posted applies to that 24 year old as well as a 12 year old. I don't know about charges, it seems that he will be serving a life sentence in his mind as it is.
