Demeanor is over rated. it is kind of fun to attack dumb people and partisans on MM.com's political forum. I do it all the time over there. Kind of a "reap what you sow" deal. Here it is more a debate, there it is more a drag through the mud kind of thing. On either site, nobody ever really changes any minds from my experience.

I would say more minds are changed than you realize. Granted, those who are posting the back and forth rarely change, but a lot of others read and adhere to one side of the logic or other without every engaging in the discourse. Of course, you can disagree, but if you do you are just a poopy-head who never shoots any geese.

I have even been called an idiot for wanting to shoot geese but I endeavor to persevere. I just don't buy that any minds are changed by internet discussions your mileage may vary.

I agree with this. I don't mind spirited debate and civil discourse, but the personal attacks are't necessary. Unless the subject is Chaffetz. Then fireaway.

But like Gerald said, it has been quieter of late.

Chaffetz just stepped in it this morning when he was defending RyanCare replacement for Obamacare.

Said young people will need to not buy their $600 iPhones so they can afford their $10,000 health insurance. Chaffetz's phone comment reveals truth behind the plan: GOP is literally wiling to let poor people die because they think they're greedy.

And, best of all, Jason Chaffetz, the biggest coward in DC, spends his campaign donor's money to buy his iphones.....





But yeah, poor people don't need phones, they need healthcare. The only ones who should get free healthcare and free iPhones are Chaffetz & Co.

There are many threads that I follow and don't engage. Most I don't have anything to add or don't enough to begin. It helps me see both sides and make my own decision.
