I am thinking about buying a Honda EU3000IS generator.
simply because they say that they are supper quite ?
compared to the generator I have now for camping.
any thoughts on the Honda's ?, good, bad or ugly.

Thanks
Kevin

I couldn't tell ya how quiet they are but I know I won't buy any equipment like that anymore without a Honda engine. I think their engines are the best you can get for small power equipment like that. I have several pumps at work, a wood splitter at home, and a few other things all with Honda engines and they run better, and are quieter than any other engine for those applications.

I bought two of the Yamaha 2000 generators they can be tied together to make 4000 watts to run my AC. The reason I went this route is they run at 54 decibels and only weigh 44 lbs each. I am having back surgery in the future so they are smaller and easier to handle. Hope this helps but I do know Honda makes a heck of a product. Good luck. Andy

We use a Honda eu2000i in camp and really like it. I also use it at work on occasion to run power tools. I think it's a very solid machine.

***I've used 2 different ones that size that friends own when we went on hunting trips and they are the cats azz! Expensive, but well worth it for dependability and quiet running. They are quiet when running on the regular setting and when you toggle them down to the economy setting you have to be right next to them to know they are running. I also have a Honda engine on an expensive Troybilt self-propelled walk behind lawn mower that has hundreds of hours of service since it was purchased in 2007. It's still starting on the first pull every time and running like a fine Swiss watch. Go with a Honda engine on any small stuff you buy and you won't be sorry!

My brother worked at a small engine shop for many years. Honda make the best. Esp small engines and generators. I bought the 2000 and the companion for the mobility and easy hookup to double them up.

Haven't used them yet but they look good next to my honda lawn mower that never breaks sitting next to my honda pilot that never breaks that's sitting next to my 5th honda accord that never breaks................

If only honda made a real truck!!

I would love the Honda but my budget wouldn't allow it so I picked up one of the 2000 watt champion invertor gens and have been very happy. I could buy a 2nd and Link them together but for just keeping the batteries charged and watching hunting movies in the tv when its raining it can't be beat. It's no Honda but its definitely an option

Yep

Yep, the Champion's are good generators, I use the 4000 for camping now.
I just want something quitter is why I am thinking Honda.
And actually I just talked to my local dealer, and ordered the Honda EU3000IS with the wheel kit, I will pick it up on Monday.

I also have the 9000 Watt Champion that I use for the House when needed, does a awesome job.

Thanks guys

If your 4000 is the open frame style were talking 2 different animals these are enclosed inverter style and almost just as quiet as the hondas, if not my apologies

I asked the question a few weeks ago when looking to get a generator. Over half said Honda, but I just could not choke down the cost of one. Honda are 2-4 times the cost of other generators. I find it hard to believe they are worth 2-4 times the cost of others, but that is up to you.

Yep, my 4000 is the open frame, I looked at the others too.
I hate to spend that much money on the Honda, but a couple of years ago, I was standing about 4' from one, and didn't even know it was running till I listened close.

I have had the 3000 for a few years, great unit. When you order it go for the Remote start kit, nothing like being snug in the Camper off grid and pushing a button to shut it off and start it. It ran the A/C just fin in my Horse trailer, if you have any problems just start your fan and then switch to A/C. Once the A/C is on you can use the T/V and Microwave, all at the same time. All must haves in a Hunting Trip. LOL John

We were dealers as part of a contractor supply company and in 20 years I never saw one that wouldn't start on the first pull. They are exceptional gen units, now dealing with Honda is a whole different story.

You'll like the Honda 3000. We were at Fort Peck last weekend and a guy a couple spots down from us had one. It ran nice and quiet. We camped this weekend and a buddy charged his camper batteries with the Honda 2000 and I liked how quiet and small it was.
