How does everyone make their own mountain house meals. The store bought ones mess me up on the inside. Looking for some new ideas.

Dehydrator @ 130 for 8hrs or more, depending on moisture content. Some people use parchment paper, but I use the screen on one layer and a plastic drip tray below. Vacuum seal. Rehydrate 2:1 water to food. I pour the food into the pot, add the water, then bring to a boil. Let sit for 15 to 20 and your done.

Bean dishes and pastas work the best. I generally dehydrate any leftovers that aren't going to be eaten. Makes for some interesting backcountry meals. Taco soup and ratatouille anyone?

how do you dehydrate taco soup? I'm very intruiged... I LOVE chilli and cheese. If I could figure out how to dehydrate and make my own Chilli and just bring some of the sealed cheese that would be AWESOME!

The way we’ve done “soup” is you basically thicken it up until it doesn’t run everywhere and dehydrate it. Once you go to rehydrate it just add more water to turn it back into soup

Exactly. Season heavy and make it more of a stew, then just add in more water to create your broth when rehydrating.
