Moved up here in June. Figured if I was going to give alaska a shot it was better to do it while I was young with no commitments in life. I've been living my alaska mostly through your guys threads though . My first season up here was a learning curve. A curve that ended up with an empty freezer hahahaha. Thats how it goes sometimes I guess. We had a couple close calls with bears but we never did seal the deal.

Nesto, I have seen a bunch of violations this year. Most of them involving lazy people who won't stop driving off of the established roads they are asked to stick to.

As for the elk, that is one sick bull. Any idea who's it is, or is it just somebody showing off at Home Depot, ha?

I am in anchorage currently. I might try the north slope soon just for shits and giggles. A lot of people have said its an experience so I figure why not?

I think the bull is a high fence ranch bull from another state. I know that jeep its a guy from Green River. Hes been known to "buy" a rack a time or two. Everyone thinks it came from little mt but there isn't a bull that big down there. We shall see though.

I think this is going to be a record year for game violations. Hell I'm not there to keep everyone legal .
