Hello all, long time lover of most things outdoors here. I ended up in AK as a young man near 40 years ago. And I found my home. And a beautiful wife too. Putting wild fish n game in the freezer was a necessity.
Along the way we staked 20 acres n built a remote log cabin. We charter a Cessna 185 on floats to a remote uninhabited lake then 2 miles north to the cabin. But a great view of Denali. In the frozen months, we drive a hour n half along moose lined roads. Unload the snogos n load up the freight sleds. The trail starts out pretty good if you don't have to jump the river but before you hit the cabin the trail disappears.
Yeah I'm in to getting out 20210313_073908.jpg

Thanks I'm glad to be here. My kind of folks.
I also try to actively promote take one make one. You'll probably read that a lot.
I need to use atvs also. And I enjoy them. Snogos, wheelers, swamp buggy, snocat, lake boat, canoes n such.
I'll be around n hope to contribute in a positive fashion. I've been blessed to be able to hang in beautiful land n wildlife. And learn. And feel its important to give back

Welcome from WI, I just got back from my first ever trip to your state. What a beautiful place. We flew to Anchorage and spent the week down in Homer. Hopefully my next trip will include something with a bow or gun.

Your making me jealous!! I have buddies that run a fishing guide service in Happy Valley just north of Homer. I usually go up every year and fix all the stuff they can't tape back together. I haven't been able to get up there for the last 2 seasons because of the WU flue. It was 104* here yesterday and they said it was 46* yesterday. I'm very home away from homesick.

Welcome to HT from TN. I'm jealous as well although I'm sure it was a lot of hard work. Amazed you can get cell/internet out there.
