Gym closed due to COVID-19.

I just started the "Hill of Death" routine last week, complete with a MR pack and 60 pound bag of concrete mix.

You're braver than I! I like something like pelletized lime or water. Basically, something I won't feel bad about ditching if I need to lighten my load to get home.

Any high school football bleachers near by?
Yea about 20 miles away. This was one of my first thoughts but with my schedule being extremely tight the 50 minute drive back and forth is hard to swing on a regular basis. I can probably swing it a couple times a week though.

If you can walk 10 miles with 60 lbs, even if all you did was train on flat ground you'll do fine in the mountains.
So obviously no mountains where I'm at but we have ridges that simulate mountains scaled down immensely... I put my pack on and stuff a bunch of weight in it and shed hunt! That's all you need to do imo. You do everything you'll be doing hunting by doing this.

Maybe some of you come across a tire that needs to be flipped in the mountains, but I guess I haven't seen that yet.

You might not need to flip a tire but you might end up face down on your hands and knees in an elk with his hoof propped up on your shoulder as you try to disconnect said leg for a relatively long amount of time at which point you might wish you’d flipped a tire or two. 🤷🏼‍♂️
+1 for the weighted pack shed hunting.

While standing on a 40 degree slope consisting of decomposed granite.

Walking around with a weighted backpack is great, but certainly doesn't incorporate all aspects of fitness. Know your limitations and stay within them.

I like lunges with body weight workouts for the upper leg/glute workout. One of the best exercises for getting the legs ready IME. I will do forward, backward, and walking lunges to mix things up and spread out the impact. Recently did some stepups into backward lunge, need to work on that one a bit more as I have been slacking a bit this winter. I usually get my feet on the ground in the mountains 1-3 days a week and nothing beats it. But mixing it up with some home gym stuff definitely helps.

I would make a box for step-ups before spending 50 mins in a car to get to bleachers. I made a box and I have a trailhead 3/4 mile away.
