If my hunts keep going like today it's going to be a great season. I was lucky to take a dandy muley. My wife played a big part in getting him as she watched him bed then helped me get him down a steep canyon side through several rockslides. She held onto a 100' rope wrapped around some big sage while I pulled him down. She would keep the rope tight and feed it out as I guided him down. Nice big body, we had to use a wheelbarrel to get him into the walk in. Really happy and humbled to take such a nice buck !

Great buck! I'm headed over your way this coming weekend with my nine year old son and a buddy of mine who has a South Sumpter deer tag. He's been gracious enough to allow my son an opportunity to fill his deer tag under Oregon's Youth Mentor Program. Of course we'll be hunting chukars on the opener as well. Hopefully I'll have a great story (with photos) to post upon our return. Again, great buck!
