So I'm lining up my applications for this coming year and I'm on Wyoming. This is my fist time applying so I'm looking for tips. My main question is why when I select second choice option there is 0% of drawing on everything?

My plan was to apply for a hard to get unit for first choice and for second choice a general tag. Is this a legitimate strategy or am I missing something? The hard to draw unit is .9% and the general is 14% odds under first choice. Everything is 0% odds when I put in second choice.

You have zero % chance of drawing a general tag as a 2nd choice because they are all gone after the first choice drawing. The ship of drawing a general tag 2nd choice as an NR has sailed.

There are many full price cow tags (types 4 and 5) that can be drawn on second choice. No bull tags you would want can be drawn on anything but first choice.

If you draw second or third choice full price (type 1 2 4 5), you can buy a point that year. If you draw first choice full price, you cannot.
