Right! I'm going to NM next spring to give it a go.All of the Marian’s pictures make me jealous every year.
The turkeys have been really active on the warm days here. I’ve seen a few strutting. But then again if I only got action in April and May every year I’d be strutting in February too!Heard my first gobbles this week.
How long have you been married??only got action in April and May every year I’d be strutting in February too!
I have to take my shoes off to add them up.How long have you been married??
Well that gets me excited!Heard my first gobbles this week.
This old gal? Usually this is the only decoy I run and if I have time it gets setup. Although where I'm usually hunting in western Oklahoma it's fairly open not much heavy timber. If I'm on private and don't have to carry them far I have a whole flock of Avian X decoys I love. Setup a 3/4 strut jake behind a nesting hen with a couple feeder/sentry hens around and it's hard to keep the turkey out of the setup.I have a question that @Nick87 and I have been talking about.
Decoy setups. Do you run a hen? A hen and Jake? No decoy?
Personally I hunt run n gun so I carry a collapsible hen decoy from Montana decoys. I think it’s called Miss Puurfect or something like that. I set it out 50% of the time depending on my set up. If I’m in the woods I don’t set up a decoy, but if I’m in the open I will set one out.
